Outdoor Worship

What to Expect

Worship with us on Saturday afternoon at 4pm on the front lawn of the church. Bring a blanket or a chair to sit on. If the sun is of concern, bring an umbrella. If you do not feel comfortable attending in person, we have two options for your consideration: First, you can join us online at 10:00am from the comfort of your home. Secondly, you can join us from the comfort of your car as you tune in to our FM transmitter (98.3). We will have a limited number of parking spaces available for those who pre-register that will receive the transmission.

If services are cancelled a notice will be posted on the homepage of LHUMC.org,

as well as on the LHUMC Facebook Page

We advise checking for cancellation before departing for church.

The most current guidelines are below;

you can also download a PDF copy HERE, to save or print.

What You Need to Know:

  • Registration is required to attend Outdoor Worship.

Register on our website at LHUMC.org or leave a message on the office phone if you do not have internet. Registration will open each week on Monday mornings. Pre-registering helps us with our required contact tracing, gets you to your seat quicker, and helps us plan for appropriate physical distancing requirements.

If you are unable to pre-register, we will not turn you away unless we reach our physical distancing capacity. Please register early in the week to help us with planning.

  • Outdoor Worship is weather dependent and will be canceled due to inclement weather. Cancellation decisions will be made the afternoon of and posted on LHUMC.org and LHUMC’s Facebook page by 3:30pm. (For those who do not have internet, a phone call will be made as soon as possible. Your notification is dependent on pre-registration.)

  • We will not offer Sunday School for adults, youth, or children and we will not have a nursery at Outdoor Worship. We will continue to offer on-line Sunday School for children and Senior High youth.

Before You Arrive:

Please be familiar with CDC guidelines for People Who Are at Increased Risk for Severe Illness.

Please affirm that everyone in your group answers no to the following questions:

Have I or someone in my group had a fever over 100.4 in the past 14 days?

Have I or someone in my group experienced any flu like symptoms in the past 14
days?

Have I or someone in my group had prolonged exposure to someone who has
tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days?

Have I or someone in my group traveled to a hot spot (a positivity rate > than 10%) as defined by the state of MD in the past 14 days? Click here to find positivity rates.

Are there any medical reasons why I or someone in my group should not be
around other people?

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, you may not attend Outdoor Worship until you have been cleared by a negative COVID-19 test or by a health provider, and answered the secondary list of questions per our protocols.
